Luton Sonali Bank UK Ltd Closure

Sonali Bank UK Ltd Luton branch is planned to be closed on 30th June 2016. This is an important service for the local community and in particular for women in the community who cannot travel far to carry out regular banking service.

The planned closure has upset the local community and on Saturday 9th April 2016 the community organised a meeting at the local community centre to discuss the closure and any action that can be taken to prevent this closure. This meeting was attended by hundreds of residence including many from Biswanath.

S.I Khan from Biswanath stated Luton has a large Bangladeshi community and this banking service is very important to send remittance to Bangladesh and carry out other banking service.

There are plans to discuss this issue with senior management of Sonali Bank UK Ltd and the Bangladeshi High Commission in the UK.
